2012 Provider Assist National Scholarship Program
As part of our way of saying thank you and giving something back to support a deserving sector for providing invaluable service, we are delighted to announce that Provider Assist has launched six State Scholarships and one National Scholarship.Total Value $56,000.
We hope the Scholarship Program will change some of the lives of those that change so many every day.
State Scholarships
Prize:
- Value $3,500 each
- Registration, Travel and Accommodation to the State Conference or equivalent
- Registration, Travel and Accommodation to the ACSA National Conference
- State Winner Trophy and plaque to be displayed at your place of employment
- Be eligible to win the Provider Assist National Scholarship
State Winner criteria:
- Nomination form in by the due date
- Needs to be able to attend the state conference or equivalent
- Needs to be able to attend the ACSA national conference
- Write a submission to enter the National Provider Assist Scholarship – see National criteria
Nominations Close:
- Victoria – 1 February 2012 closed
- Tasmania – 1 May 2012
- Queensland – 1 March 2012
- Western Australia –10 April 2012
- South Australia – 1 June 2012
- New South Wales – 1 April 2012
Who can be nominated:
DON’s, Nurses, Administration, anyone directly involved in our industry employed by an Approved Provider.
NB. CEOs are not eligible for nomination to the Provider Assist Scholarship Program, as part of the terms and conditions are that the CEO of the winner of the National Scholarship will accompany them on the SAGE tour.
Winners announced: at relevant state events
Each state will have a different event at which the scholarship winner will be publicly announced and presented. (State winners will be informed three weeks prior to the state announcement)

- VIC: Tristate Conference, 26-28 Feb 2012
- TAS: Members Seminar (date tbc)
- QLD: State Conference, 20-22 March 2012
- WA: Members Meeting, 19 June 2012
- SA: Awards Evening, 20 June 2012
- NSW: State Conference, 10-11 May 10 2012
National Scholarship
Prize:
- Value $35,000
- $2,000 spending money!
- Registration, International travel, airfares and accommodation to the two-week SAGE Tour - Europe, date tbc (likely to be September/October, 2012)
- Education and training
- Meet with key international leaders in aged care
- Registration, travel and accommodation to the ACSA National Conference
- CEO to accompany the winner on the SAGE Tour
- National Winner Trophy and plaque to be displayed at your place of employment
Eligibility:
Only the winners of each State Scholarship are eligible to apply for the National Scholarship. Therefore, you do not need to write the 500-1000 word submission until you are notified as winning a state scholarship.
Who can be nominated:
The winners of each state scholarship will automatically be entered into the National Scholarship and to write a submission as outlined in the application form.
Winner announced: ACSA National Conference, 3-5 September 2012 - Gold Coast
National winner criteria
Write a 500–1000 word submission (to be completed by each state winner):
- Explaining how you would benefit from the Provider Assist National Scholarship
- Where you see yourself advancing in the Aged Care Industry
- Describing one improvement/change you wish could be implemented in aged care in the near future and how this could be achieved
- Ability to travel – date TBC (likely to be September, 2012)
- Valid passport (with at least 6 months until expiry from the SAGE tour return date, approximately April 2013)
