Day 3: Generating change in aged care
Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) CEO Patrick McClure, AO, will address the final day,
15 September, of the 2011 ACSA National Conference on the once in a generation opportunity to change Australia’s aged care system.
Mr McClure said the unprecedented unity on the need for reform, coupled with the Productivity Commission’s report, hailed a new era for caring for older Australians.
“We are on the threshold of developing a system which can be sustainable and capable of delivering services to meet the growing and diverse needs of our ageing population,” Mr McClure said.

- David Crosbie, CEO, Community Council for Australia (CCA) will discuss the vital role the not-for-profit sector plays in building strong, supportive communities. David has been a leader in the sector for more than 20 years with roles including CEO of the Mental Health Council and a member of the Prime Minister’s Australian National Council on Drugs and the National Advisory Council on Mental Health: 9.35-10.10am
- Sally Cockburn (aka Dr Feelgood) will delve into the issues surrounding ageing and sexuality. In addition to her hectic media schedule, as a GP Sally is a passionate advocate for a range of health and community initiatives: 12noon-1pm
